Please sign this petition now to preserve your freedom to drive the vehicles you need.
The following petition will be submitted to the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission to demonstrate broad opposition to the proposal to adopt California vehicle emissions standards in Colorado. By adding your name and address to the petition, you consent to have this information shared with the commission.
We the undersigned urge the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission to reject Regulation No. 20: Colorado Low Emission Vehicle Program.
This proposed regulation would impose California’s vehicle emissions standards on Colorado drivers. This means that Colorado would be subject to the edicts of unelected regulators in California.
Colorado drivers face unique challenges - including tough winter weather and challenging geography - that are not reflected in California’s regulations.
Coloradans have the freedom to choose from a broad range of new vehicles to meet the needs of their families and businesses, including hybrids and battery-powered vehicles.
Adopting California’s vehicle mandates would restrict consumer choice, especially for the majority of Coloradans who depend on pickup trucks and SUVs.
The California regulations also would significantly raise the cost of new vehicles for Colorado consumers.
Instead, we support clean air initiatives that keep Coloradans in the driver’s seat when it comes to choosing vehicles that meet their needs.
I agree with and support the above statement.
Thank you for signing the petition!
Your support will help ensure that Coloradans are able to drive the vehicles they need to get where they need to go.
